Medical Services & Health Care

We agree with that popular maxim, which holds that a healthy mind resides in a healthy body. That is why we take measures to ensure that everybody in our institute enjoys good health. As part of our preventive measures for good health, we work hard to keep our physical environment clean. No places are left for mosquitoes to breed or for dirt. Moreover, we fumigate our compound regularly to make doubly sure that there are no safe havens for malaria-causing mosquitoes. Sports and physical exercises are encouraged as ways of keeping fit. That is not all.

There is a medical clinic in the school which contributes a lot towards our maintenance of good health. A group of volunteer doctors, nurses and pharmacists run the clinic and they come twice every week (Tuesdays and Fridays) for consultations and treatment of certain ailments. Often times, there are seminarians that studied health related courses before wanting to become priests; they serve as resident health personnel on campus. Major health matters are usually referred to hospitals like the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku-Ozala, Enugu, the Annunciation Specialist Hospital, Emene-Enugu, Mother of Christ Hospital, Ogui-Enugu.

The services of the doctors and nurses in our clinic are made available to all the workers in the institute and also to people living around us who in most cases find it extremely difficult to afford the cost of medical services in the city hospitals.
